This blog is a compilation of various topics that got my attention as I go about my day. When I get some free time I enjoy topics in the sciences (I was once an astronomical observatory assistant), politics, education, photography, food, gardening, travel and sports.
I have lived here in Madison, Wisconsin almost 25 years. The city was once referred to as “30 square miles surrounded by reality.” It has grown quite a bit since 1978 when Governor Lee Dreyfus made that remark. According to Wikipedia, Madison is 67.3 square miles of land and 16 square miles of water. Here’s one of my favorite views of the isthmus. It’s a pretty good place.
