OMG! Crocuses!!!

The first crocuses of the year have poked their heads out of the frozen tundra.

The temps look good for the coming week and showers are in the forecast. I’d like to declare, “Spring, Spring, Spring is here!!!” but it’s Wisconsin …. I’m hopeful but realistic.

The first crocuses of the Spring are out here at Ladybird Lane! Actually, I saw them yesterday but they weren’t open so I didn’t grab a snapshot. But today they’re open. Yay!

Finally, the first indication that Spring is arriving on the Frozen Tundra. A crocus, actually, a number of crocuses, opened today in our front yard. After a long, bitter Winter this warms me up a bit.

Out with the old, in with the new. First crocuses of 2013

I spotted a clump of crocuses coming up late yesterday afternoon, the first crocuses of 2013 here at Ladybug Lane. Aren’t they beautiful! We have purple ones, too, but they’re not up yet. Though we still have lots of snow on the ground here in Madison (nearly 70 inches this Winter) we also have crocuses and the daffodils, hyacinths and tulips are coming up, too. I also see some growth on our mums.

“Old Man Winter, you’ve had your say. Now git the heck outta here!”
